The training explains the principles of conducting multiple projects simultaneously and teaches how to respond to emerging challenges in order to provide the organization with the expected business results.
The program is addressed to people responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and delivering the resulting business values. During the training, we present the best practices in project portfolio management, from defining the shape of the portfolio in line with the organization's strategy, to its approval and ongoing control.

Training program

Day 1

  1. Discussion of the elements of the strategic management process.
  2. Defining a portfolio and portfolio management.
  3. Overview of the portfolio lifecycle and the role of the portfolio manager.
  4. Presentation of the portfolio approach and how to implement it.
  5. Identification and description of areas of specialization used by portfolio managers.
  6. Presenting the benefits and challenges of portfolio management.
  7. Presentation of key roles and expectations of portfolio stakeholders.
  8. Defining the elements of the IT system supporting portfolio management.

Day 2

  1. Factors to consider when developing a portfolio management framework.
  2. Discussion of the framework for proceeding with the selection of projects.
  3. Weaknesses of popular project selection methods.
  4. Ranking methods for project selection.
  5. Application of economic models to project selection.
  6. Discussing the elements of portfolio supervision and developing a plan for its implementation.
  7. Defining a group of monitoring and control processes.
  8. Identification and discussion of key elements of monitoring and control processes.
  9. Presentation of tools and techniques used in monitoring and control processes.

After completing the training participants

  • They have knowledge of the strategic management process, which allows them to integrate the organization's goals and strategies with the project portfolio.
  • They have the ability to identify and manage various phases of a project portfolio - planning, implementation, monitoring.
  • They know tools and techniques that they can use effectively in practice.

Languages and locations

We provide training online and stationary in Warsaw. Trainings are held in Polish or English. We also offer the possibility of organizing closed training in other cities in Poland. Regardless of the form of training, we provide high quality teaching and emphasize practical skills. We also organize closed training courses at the individual request of the organization, adapting the location and scope to the client's needs.

 

Training sessions are confirmed 14 days before the scheduled date. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the training may be rescheduled or canceled. Participants who have already paid can choose a new date or receive a refund.

Organization of online training

Online training is delivered on the Microsoft Teams communication platform.

Participants will receive a detailed schedule of meeting hours in individual organizational messages.

Details:

  • No later than 7 days before the start of the training, participants will receive individual organizational messages to the e-mail address provided during registration, containing:
    • Confirmation of the date of training implementation
    • Information about the implementation times of each meeting
    • Information about the communication platform on which the training will be implemented
    • Links and passwords required to log in to each meeting
  • After the training, participants will receive training materials at the e-mail address provided at registration
  • Within 3 business days of completing the training, participants will receive certificates confirming completion of the training in PDF format to the email address provided at registration

  • During the training we provide participants with coffee breaks and lunch
  • For special dietary needs, please let us know when registering for the training so that we can provide a lunch tailored to the diet of the participants

What accreditation does this training have?

The pmexperts Project Portfolio Management training is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) on the basis of the Partnership Agreement and meets the accreditation requirements.

Can I change the training date after purchase?

Yes, the date of the purchased training can be changed no later than 2 weeks before the planned training.

Are there any requirements for participating in the training?

There are no requirements that must be met before participating in the training, but it is intended for project managers who already have basic knowledge of project management.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the training?

You will receive a certificate of completion of training from an accredited PMI partner.
